State Senator Mike Fair | Greenville

Chris Oviatt | Chairman of the Kershaw County Republican Party

When it comes to the future of South Carolina, I believe there is only one person who can lead us in the right direction, and that is Henry McMaster. Henry has spent the majority of his life working to make South Carolina a better place for its citizens to live and work. From his time as United States Attorney to his current position as South Carolina Attorney General, Henry has put South Carolina first.

As Kershaw County Republican Party chairman, I know first hand the amount of time and energy that Henry put in to build and strengthen our party. I also served as College Republican Chairman for a year under Henry, and there was not a thing he would not have done to help the young voters in South Carolina.

As Attorney General, Henry is responsible for running one of the states largest agencies. Executive experience is important for any governor to have, something many of his opponents are lacking. Henry will be ready to lead on day one, and will not require on the job training like his opponents will.

Henry is a family man who will put families first and continue to work to protect our children and keep them safe from online predators and those walking the streets. We need the kind of accountable leadership that Henry will bring to South Carolina. I am proud to support my friend Henry McMaster for governor.

Henry McMaster has been a strong supporter for the Upstate Young Republicans. We always appreciate his coming to our meetings and giving us his firsthand knowledge of the policy making in Columbia and Washington D.C. He has worked tirelessly to insure our right to life, safety, freedom of religion, and individual fiscal responsibility.

He believes in keeping federal government interference at a minimum. Best of all, he fights to protect the lives of unborn children. Henry doesn’t just talk about getting the job done, he gets the job done.

Nate Leupp | Greenville, SC

I don’t like primary races. It has always been difficult for me to chose whom I think would be the best candidate and do the best job of governing with conservative principles and values. While we have a great slate of candidates for Governor, I knew who had my support from the the moment I heard he was running: Henry McMaster. It was not just because President Ronald Reagan trusted him enough to make him his first appointee to United States Attorney.

It was not his leadership as our SCGOP Chairman for nine years under which the GOP took both the House and Senate and most of the Constitutional offices. It was not just for his leadership in passing the SC law that makes marriage between one man and one woman, or his defense of praying in Jesus’ name. I’m not even going to mention his battle to keep the children of SC and our nation safe from internet predators.

I chose to support Henry McMaster not just for his conservative values or great political accomplishments but for the character I saw one day in a local airport. While other political leaders were walking through an small empty airport with a presidential candidate, Henry departed from the group as they walked on and came over to greet and have a warm conversation a couple of nobody’s. No press, no one watching. Instead of trying to gain valuable face time with someone who could potentially be the leader of the free world, he chose to spend his time with the common man.

Since that day I’ve seen Henry in many settings and learned that what I saw that day in the airport was not just a one-time event but who he really is; a truly caring person. Add that trait with his accomplishments and we’re going to have ourselves an amazing governor.

Every generation or so, in South Carolina, a gifted leader emerges to guide our state through challenging times and to put us on a path to prosperity. Strom Thurmond and Carroll Campbell are two names that come to mind. As we begin the second decade of the 21st century, that leader is Henry McMaster. Henry has the experience, courage & compassion that we need in our next Governor! If you ask Henry how to spell “prosperity”, he would quickly answer, “j-o-b”. But he would also be the first to say that government, alone, cannot create jobs.

As Governor, Henry will make sure that South Carolina fosters a strong technical school system that prepares our workforce for high tech, high paying jobs; an attractive business environment, with low taxes, to recruit new industries to our state; and Henry will bring us back to a place where the Governor and the Legislature can work together again, to find real solutions to the very real problems that we face today.

Simply put, Henry McMaster is the one

One man. One vision. One South Carolina.
